Note, in these examples the primary query layer called "Query Points & Metrics" is now updated to the 2 "Veg Query x 288k" layers, which are only visible at at scales closer than 288k, AND the huge layer called "VegPts 9m KEEP OFF UNTIL QUERY" layer, so labelled because it is enabled at all scales up to 9 million, at which scale it will attempt to draw all 700,000 points while you wait and wait. Therefore you are ONLY to use this layer AFTER you have assigned filters and queries so as to limit the number of records down to below 10,000. At that size you can expect your map to draw in 5-10 seconds or so. The pictures below explain how to do this. First though is a guide to how you can tell what scale you are at so you'll know which layers you can use:
